Pompey manager Danny Cowley has been named League One Manager of the Month for August.
A draw with Lincoln at Fratton Park was followed by four wins on the bounce against Cheltenham, Cambridge, Bristol Rovers and Port Vale that saw the Blues top the table as August came to an end.
Speaking to the Club website, Cowley said “This is an award for the whole club and I firstly want to congratulate the players for the consistency of their performances.
“The staff have also been selfless in the way they have worked to so support and challenge the players, so they can be the best they can be.”
Cowley will be hoping that the Manager of the Month curse doesn’t strike, as Pompey travel to Burton Albion tonight for the latest challenge in their bid for promotion.
