Griffiths & Koroma leave Pompey

Portsmouth have today announced that both Josh Griffiths and Josh Koroma have left the Blues and returned to their parent clubs.

Griffiths has returned to West Brom, with the Baggies suffering poor goalkeeping performances of late and it’s understood that Griffiths will be returning to compete for the number 1 shirt.

Koroma, however, appears to have had his loan cancelled by Portsmouth rather than being recalled. Koroma has been underwhelming since arriving from Peterborough in the summer. Two great goals at Fratton Park have not been enough to cover the lack of effort that his performances seemed to show.

The Blues are still without a manager, but Sporting Director Rich Hughes appears to have seen enough to determine that the new Head Coach will be better off with a different utilisation of the loan market.

Griffiths departure, however, appears to leave Pompey somewhat light between the sticks. Josh Oluwayemi is the most senior goalkeeper, but has yet to make a league appearance. The 21-year-old has featured in the EFL Trophy regularly.

The only other recognised goalkeeper is 17-year-old, Toby Steward. The youngster has yet to make a senior appearance for Pompey.

The big question is, what next?
