Pompey came from behind to earn a 2-1 win over Hashtag United, climbing to the top of the National League in the process.
A crowd of 1,246 descended on Westleigh Park for the top-of-the-table clash, as Pompey played host to the only team to have beaten them so far this season.
Hashtag took the lead after just 6 minutes, with Nicholls scoring the first goal Portsmouth have conceded at home all season.
After the break, Pompey came out with a purpose. Just 5 minutes in, they were level. Barrett whipped a dangerous ball into the box which evaded everyone, and nestled neatly in the back of the net.
And as the hour mark ticked past, Pompey took the lead. A long ball forward from Goalkeeper and Captain Hannah Haughton found it’s way to Jones. She drove forward and thundered a strike home to put Pompey deservedly in front.
The win sees the Blues top of the National League Southern Premier Division on goal difference, with 2 games in hand.
Boss Jay Sadler said to The 1898 “Great turnaround! I think we showed great character, spirit, belief and quality.
“Two moments of real quality, the second one moreso to win that game.

“Incredible turnout! All in all a great day, hopefully it captured the imagination of the fans. Hopefully inspired them.
“10 games to go, top of the league, 2 games in hand. Some really big games coming up!”
The Blues travel to Ipswich twice in two weeks next, firstly in the League Cup and then again in the League.
